I am so sorry to hear about Boo. I know she has friends she joined at the Bridge, and is no longer in pain. She knew she was much loved. (((((((((((((((((HUGS OF SYMPATHY))))))))))))))))

Thank you all. Yes the Blessing are the best, and so touching.
I've been to some where that have been so moving. The most pongoint
one I was every at was an animal control officer was there. He was asking
for Absolution, he was going to have to do PTS that day. I cried no I wept.

That's one reason why I never apply to actually work for the animal shelter I visit, I know on occasion they have to PTS furkids for lack of room. I could never do that.

Where did you bury Boo? Next to Bearcat? Did you also send her to the bridge with a schmousie to play with?

Boo is buried next to Bearcat. She is buried in the hooded that she
was laying on when she passed. We had been napping in that off
and on all week, so I sent it with her so she would have something familiar
with on the other side of the Bridge. She never played with the SCHMOUSIE's
that was Bearcat's thing.

i understand...Buddy had two red blankets both he had slept on at the end. I kept the larger one and gave him the smaller one. that way he can tell the tale of Rescue Kitty with the proper prop:) (but yes, for those who have read the story, the one i kept for myself is the one that was made into the cape....and maybe one day will be made into a cape for my costume).

She now has her hoodie and Bearcat for company. That must've been so hard for you to do, burying her.

I think I will plant something in the spring. I have pictures of this
wonderful flowering plant that we had in a pot two years ago. I'm
going to do that because that area gets full sun and the nip won't
do well. Anyway the flowers were yellow and just beautiful.

Sue, do day lilies do well where you are? I have lots in my yard and need to thin the beds this fall. I put some on Archimedes' grave, and they bloom reliably every summer. Gorgeous orange blossoms. Let me know if you'd like some tubers. They are very easy to plant.

Oh yesh! I've transplanted in the fall every year. They are fine. Just dig a shallow hole and plop in the tubers. The next year, they sprout green leaves pretty early in the spring and then grow blooms around June. They get a new orange blossom every day for about a month and the leaves stay green until mid/late fall. You can mow the leaves with a lawn mower or cut them back to make them less ugly in the winter, but you don't have to. They do fine if you just let them die back.

They are very hardy plants. I think you can do whatever you want to them and they'll be fine. I had a paper bag full of tubers that I left in the barn all winter. They started to sprout leaves without any dirt! They just want to bloom!

I have some around the house that are mixed in with daffodils. When the daffodils start to die back, the day lilies are starting to really take off. It's a really nice combination.

I think they'd enjoy having flowers to mark their graves. Didn't they both like to hide in them stalking whatever in the yard?

Bear did, she was always hanging out in the ivy, or the shrubs.
Boo was strictly an inside lap of luxury girl. Still she would appreciate
the beauty of the flowers.

It will have been a week this Sunday that Boo crossed the
Bridge. The days haven't been too bad but the nights are
terrible. When I found her she was stretched out full
length and her paws in the position that made look like
she was praying. Perhaps she was.

maybe that is the kitty going away position...its pretty much the same way i found Judy and Buddy. Buddy was stretched out like that (he had been laying like that for days or weeks though...probably comfortable)...he looked almost like the way i draw Rescue Kitty when he's flying.
i'd kind of be interested if this is true for more than just us.
