Yeah, those seem like positive signs to me too. Boo must be feeling better to be off chasing moths!

How is our sweetie doing today? And how are you holding up Sue? I know all this must be very worrying to you with it dragging on so long.

As several people here know already Boo is very ill.
She has been diagonised with renal failure. Right now
she is receiving fluids at home and I'm hand feeding her wetfood
and water from a syringe. Boo is comfortable and has even gone out
a little in the afternoon for some fresh air. She is has even eaten a few nibbles
of kibble.

Right now she is sitting on the couch next to me and slept for a while
this afternoon.

Renal failure can be treated if it isn't too bad. We treated our Fiffur successfully for 6 1/2 years for bad kidneys with K/D and pills from the vet. The vet was quite pleased he responded so well for so long with that. How bad are Boo's kidneys, have they told you?

Well so far Boo has had a quiet day. She didn't go out since people were
working on something in the back. I've forced feed her several times today
along with water. I will be giving fluids again tonight. Hopefully I can get more
into her than I did the last time.

She's not happy about it but I can get something down her.
I'm putting a dollop of food on my finger and giving her four
fingers worth every hour to two hours. Still I don't think she is
getting enough. I gave her fluids tonight and it perker her up a little
bit. She went out for a few minutes today for some fresh air.

I agree with you she probably isn't getting quite enough to eat at the moment. But you are doing a lot trying to get food into her. How much do you figure she gets total in a day? Half a can's worth? More? Less? Just wondering.

Fif, a lot less I'd say less than several tablespoons. I
think she ate some kibble today. I feed her several dollops
off my finger earlier today. Right now she is sleeping comfortably
and I don't want to wake. It seems to take her so long to get settled.
I let her out on the back porch for some air today.

That's definitely not enough according to the amounts listed on Bij's cans. Too much starvation can result in fatty liver, which in itself is not a good thing.

Well today was more active than she has been and I let her
outside for a spell while I was putting laundry in the machine.
I picked up some more syringes to force feed her. I couldn't
get any fluids in her tonight. She fussed and struggled so I'm
not going to try. I will call Dr. McAnally in the morning.

Activity is good. That means she feels pretty well. GK went from totally lethargic to his usual self once his kidney troubles were under control.

As for the struggles... No reason to mess with that. She could hurt herself if she has a drip in and twists the wrong way. My vet recommended dripping while GK was asleep if he was struggling at the usual time. It seems mean, but if you're quick with the needle, it really doesn't bother them much.

I need to be quicker then. Also I need to figure out a way to
rig the drip near the couch. Today she has drank some water and
I'm back to force feeding with a syringe. At least this way I know how
much I'm getting into her.

as long as she's drinking and not struggling when you force feed her i agree with becky....it could be making her feel better and perking her up.

Thank you all, for everything.
Did you all know that Monday is the Feast Day of
St. Francis. This is the weekend that churches hold
the traditional blessing of the animals.
