Jeane reminded of something that I take for granted here in Texas. I'm thankful that I can get all sorts of
produce year round and at reasonable prices. At farmers market you can still get lemons, mangos and even avocados
at 10 for $1.00 that type of thing.

Yep - no farmer's markets here until next weekend, and even then they'll be hit and miss with their produce until July.

i know there are several here but never get to them.....i've been to the one in union sq a few times. a lot of their stuff is no cheaper or more expensive than the stuff in the stores here. i do get things there i can['t find here like that maple sugar candy and stuff made from bees wax.i still have two black cat ceremonial candles i got from one place they are on either side of Buddy's little box.

i'm thankful things were crazy at work (almost all new people or people who aren't there much)so i got an extra hour.

Thankful that the majority of the rain we were supposed to get went around us. I only got lightly sprinkled on a couple times at work.

thankful the nip is coming back to life:) and that the bad of potting soil i got last week for 99cents was enough to fill a pot for more nip and a pop bottle 'planter' for some lavendar. i don't know if lavendar will grow but i'm not out much if it doesn't and will have (hopefully) something that smells nice if it does!

thankful i didn't sleep the afternoon away....the worst thing about being off work is that there's nothing to do and nobody to talk to...and its too cold (among other things)to be moving heavy stuff around to clean. so i spend all the time i'm not on the computer laying on the bed with the cats.

Thankful it was cool enough last night to leave the windows open so I could cool my place off. i closed everything up early this morning to trap that cooler air inside. Should be at least 10-15° cooler inside than out by 3pm today, when it's supposed to be around 93 and humid as hell.

I'm glad you made it through the day too Jeane. I know how much punishment customers can dish out on the poor customer service folks sometimes.

thankful i found a land's end backpack for $2 at the thrift shop today.i really needed a new one and this one should hold up. there was another bag there, similar to things i've seen people rolling around at NYCC etc but it was $10 even with the 1/2 price end of the year discount. the lady was nice enough to put it behind the counter. i said i'd be in to get it on Tues cuz i thought i was working that day but got out early....but now i' looked at the calendar i won't be able to get there til Thurs..esh! (going to have to see if there's a phone # for the shop and try to call her on Tues). i'm sure she'd keep it back for me, but i want to make sure they know i really want it!

(i've had this pain that comes and goes, not bad, just annoying and usually when i'n sitting here at the card table at the computer )under my ribs on the right side for months but today it was just really unbearable. but i made it through the day and walked home so i'm thankful.

Thankful my mom's building turned on their AC in the hallways--finally. I can go over and cool off there if I have to and not be confined to just my mom's place.

I'm thankful it's finally cooled off outside! I much prefer the 60° it is right now than the 98° we had yesterday.

thankful i made it home today.....the last mile or so i started feeling funky. by the time i got home i was stumbling up the stairs. I did stop to see what the temp was....in the shade it was 98. i don't have any idea what it was out on the turnpike but it had to be over 100...and that's not heat index temp but actual temp...esh.

I know, all that concrete soaking up the heat and radiating it back out to folks walking on it. Ever think of using an umbrella as portable shade? I do, it helps even if folks do think I'm crazy for doing it. Haven't found white fabric paint to paint "portable shade" on the umbrella. I used one as shade while I walked to the library last week.

i took it slow walking down to the museum from work, those NYC canyons can get pretty hot. then ende dup going home in a thunderstorm. Luckily the train entrance is right around the corner from the museum, but I had to walk home in the wet when I got off the train.

was it something you ate or something flu-ish that got to ya?? yogurt should be okay....greek with a little honey should be even better:)

hmm...thankful i made it through another day at work. its not bad, but customer service, heat, and waking up at 5:00 and not being able to go back to sleep when i needed to get up an hour later all just sort of compounded.
