Thankful I only have one more month before I go back to work! It's nearly impossible to get by on unemployment, but there are no jobs here at all locally. Not even mcd's is hiring.

thankful that sleeping 14 out of 20 hrs so far has got me feeling a bit better. if i don't get a call to go somewhere tomorrow (though i'd dream of getting out of this basement even to just g o to the grocery store or dairy queen) i''ll try sleeping more and hopefully will knock whatever is in me out.

Wow, Jeanne...that bug sounds nasty...!

In the interest of being thankful...

After years of being fearful of balancing my check book, I finally got the courage to do just that! I found an extra $100 that I didn't know I had and for which I am very thankful Very Happy

...I will now balance my check book every single month!!

HMMMM!!!! You know I might try that. When I deduct things from the balacne
I round up i.e. $9.50 becomes $10.00.

that's how i pay my credit card bill...i always round up and pay a little more every month (so if a month comes when i'm low on money i'll have cut myself a small break)

I don't know exactly what i have..i think its probably a sinus infection that has been in me for a month or more but finally got where it started to really bother me (ie started to drip in my throat and make me cough and make me nauseous instead of just feeling overly hot and sort of tired all the time). Its a stupid low level fever (can't find my thermometer so i don't know what is it, but my body and head are hot and its not from the heat....but not so hot that i'm getting the shivers etc)and just feeling blah right now.

I"m thankful....hmm...that i was able to get the energy up to take my jar upstairs to make sun tea. couldn't do that yesterday.

Thankful that I made it from Old East Dallas to North Dallas
actually Farmers Branch. For those of you that have my address
Google it. Trust they need to double the travel time and then some.

Most thankful to have internet at home again. We were hit by lightning on Monday. The folks at our church were kind enough to let me squat there for work this week, but it was an imperfect solution, at best.

We're back up now. Yippee! I feel connected again!

Wow Susan, your place was hit by lightening? I'm thankful that even though the computer was knocked out your home didn't catch on fire.

Thankful for the AC in my mom's building that I will soon be enjoying.

thankful i made it through another day.....i'm really draggin my butt to get home in this heat. no matter what i buy at the grocery store it always feels like i'm shlepping about 30 lbs on my back and 15lbs on my shoulder! All i brought home today was a 2lt of club soda, some powdered 'drink mix', a pack of hot dogs and 5 cans of cat food.(besides the usual crap in my backpack like clothes and umbrella etc).
I can NOT wait until its cold outside and i can wear a jacket....then the straps from the backpack won't be digging into my arms..esh!

That I was able to use the guest house for a shower.
The water heater for the laundry room and my bedsitter
has died.

That's a great idea, except there was a major leak
under the house.

As hot as it's been outside if you had a large bucket you could put water outside for the sun to heat up for a bath. Maybe if the bucket was inside a closed up car the water would get hotter? How long before that leak is fixed? I know it will probably involve shutting off all the water to the house to do it. (from all the leaks that place has had lately I think ALL the plumbing should be inspected, I suspect it will all have to be replaced/repaired within the year)

I'm thankful I still have a roof over my head and a shower that works. Took two cold showers to cool off Saturday............

I heard rumors of a new water heater. I was able to trap the cat
I've been feeding, along with a kitten. Willa goes for spraying tomorrow,
then I will release her and the kitten back outside on Weds.

If the kitten is a bit too little to spay, why not try to keep them both in the bathroom until it is big enough? I know that would be hard for you and Boo, but it would be easier than trying to trap that kitten again for spaying in the not-so-distant future.

I'm thankful you trapped that mom and will get her spayed. No more homeless kittens added to the feral population.

thankful i got a ride home today...i didn't have to walk in the stiffling heat and i didn't have to lug heavy stuff.. well, it meant was able to get heavy stuff thaT i needed. I have enough dry cat chow for two or three weeks and i was able to use a coupon and get more of the 'on sale' canned food. I also was able to treat myself to a box of Italian Ices AND ice cream bars (they were on sale cheapy cheap:) I"d been drooling over them since last week....was going to get ice cream but these two together were cheaper Smile )
