ah...the difference now is that those jerks have a # to call and complain to now. i long for the days ...or just certain stores ...when receipts were receipts and you only looked at them when you got them or if i had to return something!

i remember when i used to HAVE to walk a certain distance every day or i just didn't feel right. i bet your running must feel the same way:)

You know Jeane, since I've meet you I've been more aware of how
I treat clerks in stores. It's interesting tonight I had to go back to
Tom Thumb(local grocery store chain). I called the customer service
desk before I went. When I walked in the store I saw that the checker
who had waited on me was still on, I walked up to him and said "I think
you have something of mine." He handed me my package, fell all over
himself apologizing. I told him that I and another customer helped create
the problem. Never went to customer service.

ah,....but sue you're in tx.....i think the people in NJ have a different attitude about things. (or at least in certain parts of nj) i have a friend who worked more middle of the state in a completely different situation (a small, more independant store where i believe they do mapping and fabricate things like set props and things for side shows etc). and he talked about people being just as bad in his place of business.

but honestly, i think everyone should have to work in a store and a restaurant for at least one year as part of their high school education. (of course i also believe that children over the age of 4 or 5 should be trained on patience.....i never saw so many people eating and drinking things before they pay for them and kids who can't wait 2 minutes until they get to the car to take their toys out of the bags.)

yesh yesh...i've turned into the evil of fart!

thankful the computer is working at least for now. went last night a few hours w/ no electric and then the computer isp wouldn't work. played so much solitaire and cleaned everything i could (defrag etc).
also glad that i'm not at work where only half the lights were on yesterday (i think it was something to do with our shopping center cuz i went one block over to the grocery store and all their lights and ac were fine). its hot here but i have three fans going (i unplugged the microwave that i rarely use...would YOU want your food two feet from three litter boxes? sorry,i love my kitties but where they moved the microwave to is nasty!....so i plugged in the tall fan for nobe.she really was looking droopy last night and i don't want her getting sick!).

Did the electric go out because too many people were using AC and blew a transformer somewhere? I can't imagine living with the heat you've been having with not even a fan blowing to cool me off.

I'm thankful my electric hasn't gone off so my fan works.

well, today they were talking about rolling black outs...i have a feeling they were doing that yesterday without making a big deal out of it. there were some people in our county though that were still without electric today.
they put up cooling stations but those close at 6:00...makes no sense to me, the sun doesn't go down til around 9:00 and its STILL in the 90s at that time.

they also brown out around here....which means they cut the electric to everyone so things either run slow, don't run at all if they use a lot of electric, or dim down.

I'm thankful the humidity dropped a bit, even if it's only going to last maybe another day or two.

OhGoodLord, that really bites Jeane. No break even to go to the bathroom. You'd think on a Friday they would'vr had more than one person as cashier.

I'm thankful my fan still works (it's been making funny noises lately).

I'm thankful it isn't in the 90's yet here! And we did get a couple sprinkles of rain last night so the flowers got watered, they were getting a lil droopy. Stupid landlord removed our hose and the flower patch is too big to water with a bucket or watering can.
