Thankful the humidity dropped a bit along with the temps. I know it's only temporary, but I'll take what relief I can get these days.

i spoke too soon yesterday (and wonder if there isn't somebody from work reading what i post in here now..i know they have people somewhere in the company that search the net only looking for stuff that people who work in the company are writing)...but about the same time as they called me yesterday i got a call today telling me that the person who was going to take me home tomorrow wouldn't be able to so i wasn't to come in.
i asked if that's the only reason ..if it was then i would just walk home. i'd rather walk home at 10:30 at night then to give up over 6 hrs of pay! (when you're only getting 18 hrs that 6 hrs is a LOT!).

so what am i thankful for today? about the only thing i can think of is that my backpack didn't fall apart when i was washing it so i won't have to put out money to get a new one when i don't and won't have it.

They search the more public forums and blogs. Things like Facebook, My Space
etc. I don't think we are on the radar at all. Also you are not using a company computer.
I wouldn't worry about it. Translation: don't make yourself crazy.

i've been really careful esp lately with what i put on my facebook page....i'm even afraid to say that i 'like' certain things for fear they might be seen by the corporation. sad when you can't say you like the president but that's the way it is.

and no matter what, with the way it was said to me and no actual explanation given,i've been ripping my guts up about this giving me the hours and then ripping them away from me.i'm pretty sure it all had to do with my opening my mouth and saying i needed a ride home. (I lost a lot of money this past winter because i couldnt' get a ride into work during the blizzards. i've learned that i have to walk in no matter what the weather is like if i can't get a ride. if i walk in and find that store is shut down then i will get paid for the day. if i tell them i can't get cuz there's 10 feet of snow and i would have to walk down the middle of the turnpike to get there i don't get a penny.).

i'm still trying to find somethingi besides my backpack not falling apart to be thankful for today.

How about: not become roadkill walking home on the turnpike (I know how they drive out there!), a big nasty spider didn't bite you and make you sick lately, the kitties are healthy, or you have friends here who care? And we can all be thankful for chocolate! All those things are worth being thankful for. Sometimes it's hard to see all the things we have in our lives to be thankful for when things go wrong. So sorry about the lost hours at work, I know every little bit helps.

I'm thankful the cooler weather is still holding here. I slept so good last night with the window open and no fan needed!

Thankful it's still cool outside, not so thankful I couldn't take advantage of it having the bedroom window open since it was raining all night long. On the other hand, all that rain did clean off the tree and bird stuff off my car.

wow that sounds like a sunday brunch it so fancy!!

i'm thankful that i found the last two jars that were marked down to 'discontinued' grape jelly. got those today... peanut butter is on sale this week for $2 a jar so i might get a jar and splurge on a loaf of good bread (ie..the kind that is $1.99 instead of .99 a loaf).

Jeane, I would rather have someone eat it
than have to throw it away. Normally I would
make a stock with it but I've got so many vegertarians
that I couldn't use the stock to make soup.

I love ham too. It's one of my very favorite meals. I have a ham bone in the freezer and I was just thinking that I need to pick up some Northern beans to make bean soup soon. It's kind of a hearty meal for the summer, but Wesley likes it so much I never have to worry about what time of year I make it. You got me thinking about ham so much that I took a small package of it out of the freezer so I could make ham salad for sandwiches for the week!

i've got a baggy with a ham bone left from easter.....i've been planning on making 'baked soup' but just too hot here to make it yet. (Its gonna be like bean soup but i'm going to have to make it in the oven). Bean soup was always one of the things we ate when i was a kid and dad was on strike or laid off....we could stretch it pretty far;)
Have you ever tried putting some vinegar in your bowl of bean soup? (don't know where it came from, but that's how we ate it back home)!

Today I am incredibly thankful that the air conditioner is FINALLY fixed. We've been without AC in the "business" end of the house for nearly a month now. By "business end" I mean our offices, the kitchen, laundry and dining room. It also includes the little room where we have our TV, so there has been none of that for a month.

Fortunately we have had cooling in the bedrooms, so sleeping hasn't been so uncomfortable.

So am I, I know how hot it's been all over lately!

Sue, if I were anywhere near you wouldn't have to worry about ham leftovers! There wouldn't be any to worry about. Little bits of ham in a cheese sauce over toast is pretty good for a hearty breakfast.

Thankful for the past few days of cooler weather. I knew it wouldn't last long but enjoyed it while it lasted.

oh susan how could you be without tv for that long? don't you have a tv in the bedroom (or are you like oprah and don't believe they belong there?)

i'm glad i made it through another day...and that i came home to find a check from one of the survey places. trying to decide if i should deposit the entire thing or keep half of it out to live on for two weeks. (otherwise i've got $24 a week for the next two weeks...and i spent $ 5 of this week's already).

I know exactly what you mean Jeane, my first apartment was a one-roomer with a kitchenette in the corner.

I'm thankful it's still relatively cool outside, it won't be that way for much longer today.
