I saw Mallow Cup at the fair today. Apparently it's been around long enough that my dad remembers it. Another candy I saw was Lighting Bugs.

mallow cups are good if you like marshmallow and chocolate:) they're not too great in hot weather though cuz they melt FAST!
Were the lighting bugs little gummies that lit up when you used these things that looked like big plastic tweezers?

That was the first time I have ever seen the candy, let alone heard of it. The package claimed that the tweezers were improved. Beyond that, I have no clue. For the most part, I have given up on candy. On occasion I will eat little bit of candy.

oo that's will power! i need some chocolate every day;) though i will admit that i drink very little pop now. maybe some plain seltzer with juice or lemon in it but not much pop unless i'm feeling sick. theless crap you eat and drink not only the better you feel but the more money in your pocket!

Yesh, it's will power. Before I quit soft drinks, I limited myself to no more than two cans a day. In college, I think I quit cold turkey. It didn't take that long for me to get over it though since I wasn't drinking a lot of soft drink everyday. I do get a soft drink at a restaurant and occasionally at a sporting event. I have two souvenir cups that I got at the state fair at two different years. I took one with me this past Friday and got that filled up with a soft drink. Even better was that the refill cost $2. That was the only time I had a soft drink. The rest of the day, I refilled the cup with water when needed.

Another candy that I saw at the state fair last Friday was Valomilk. To me, it was almost the same as a Mallow cup.

i've got a valomilk here i need to eat...it was part of a prize i won from a vintage candy place on FB back in april... i THINK the big differences are melocups have coconut in the chocolate (its been a while sincei had one i could be wrong!) and the white stuff in a malo(melo?)cup is marshmallowy and valo is like a vanilla cream. i like 'em both though...they're something you don't find around here so if i find 'em i get two and relish each;)

have you ever had the tri color choconut things? brachs (at least used to) make them in little 1" squares but they sell them as a flat bar as well by other companies.thehy're brown/white/pink....chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. usually pretty sweet...i tend to eat one over a couple days;)

I didn't know there was that flavor of candy. But then, I don't go in the candy aisle unless there is something that I need that happened to be in the candy aisle. I can go months without eating candy. But then, I eat something like brownies, cake, cupcakes from time to time.

that tri color...or neopolitan (however its spelled!)....coconut is usually found in places that have retro candy. i think there's a little restaurant called Cracker Barrel that has a little section of old fashioned candy.

There are two Cracker Barrel that I know of that are close enough to use that we do go there on occasion to eat. I usually don't look at the candy and when I do, I glance at what's there.

I haven't seen those in a while, and the last time I did see them was at Woodmans Grocery. They have stuff nobody else has around here.

i miss those pick your own candy stands at the grocery store....you could pick one of these and two or those and just get a handful for $1 or less.they had those tricolor 1" square coconut pieces in there...as well as something i used to find nasty but when i got older tried again and decided i liked ....the same size but it was white fondant with little pieces of jelly fruit flavors.

It may have been last month, but I saw a regular(I think) size of Mr. Goodbar. The only time I have seen Mr. Goodbar up to that point had been in a miniature bar that is in the bag from Hershey's variety bag of miniature candy.

The label was definitely yellow, but not sure if there was brown on the label.

Is Nestle's Crunch still around? I don't pay attention to the candy at the check out lane since I pay more attention to the floor for change.

i don't look for it in thebig bars but i know its in the small mini ones in the mixed bag.
we got these weird size hersey bars ...reg and w/ almonds in retro wrappers today. its not the noraml size and its not that big size...but sort of half way between. something two or three people should share but you know one person is gonna buy it and scarf it down in one sitting! (and they wonder why americans are overweight and morbidly obese...esh! giveus slightly SMALL (for lower price) bar than bigger!)

I have seen Nestle's Crunch in regular size and in the miniature size. I have seen Three Musketeers where someone could share half of it with someone. I would be eating the whole thing myself in one sitting.

The one thing I remember getting was bubble tape. I noticed that it's still being sold.

I can't remember the last time I had a full-size candy bar, other than the ones that people sell for their kids' school groups (like band or orchestra).
