ooo thanks for the link...i haven't seen some of those flavors in years....and some i've never seen as all! white chocolate pudding...cheesecake pudding! I really think that this store i go to doesn't have a good selection!
they're doing a remodel, when they're done i might put in a request for more flavors (and more flavors of jello) they used to take requests when they first opened so they might now. i'd love to get some banana as well..used to use that to make banana cream pie!

banquet used to make a frozen one we'd get but we'd make our own as well. i think pudding pies are sort of like jello salads...something from a bygone era. but they're both so easy to make!

Nahm, but I like Bottle Caps candy. They still make it after all these decades too, I was amazed when I found it at the store after not seeing it for at least 20 years. Taste like different kinds of soda.

I liked the Bottle Caps, too, fiffur.

There used to be candies that came in little shaped boxes...one was a tiny coffin with little bone-shaped candies and the other was a garbage can with little "garbage"-shaped candies. Those were fun. I remember trying to "reconstruct" the body with the little bone candies.

I used to get those! I lost the garbage can and the lil coffin one I had but still have the lil washing machine with some really antique 'clothes' shaped candy in it. Haven't seen those in years.

when i saw jeane last night she brought me a bonomos turkish taffy bar.
As you know I've been raving about them and remembering the taste all those years. well, I had it this afternoon and it was NOT like I remember it, Still goood, but not the taste I had remembered, so maybe my memory enhanced the taste in my mind, or maybe it's not really just like it was in the old days.
At least now I've had it and can put my mind and taste budds to rest. It's no longer something I will go out of my way for or eat all the time.

They probably changed the formula to "improve" it.

well its probably the same formula but as we get older our taste buds change.....things just don't taste the same on our tongues when we're over 40 than when we were under 14;)

Uh, chocolate Twinkies? scratch I didn't there were such a thing. I'm used to seeing the typical golden color Twinkies. Whenever my mom had bought Ding Dongs, they went to the freezer and we ate them frozen.

oh man...i haven't even thought of frozen ding dongs in decades! i remember when they were called KING Dongs!
i vaguely remember chocolate twinkies but i'm not a big twinkie fan. there is something that looks similar and is SOOOOO much better here (you can find them in the south but they're hard to find...in fact, they're not that easy to find here too often!) Funny Bones. They're shaped like a twinkie ..they're chocolate cake with this great very peanut buttery filling and are lightly drenched with chocolate. the chocolate is sort of soaked into the cake...in other words you can't peel it off like you can the choclate on a ding dong or swiss roll....or even the top of a hostess cupcake!

I was never into twinkies. One of my favorites was Yodels. I even wrote a poem about them for a weight watchers class

Maybe frozen Ding Dongs may not be as odd as I thought it was.
