I think it's a success. One placed is one fewer dog in foster care, and the others are safe until their day comes. I think things are slowing down because school has started and people are distracted. Once the autumn schedule settles in, things will get back to normal. Thank you, gbste, for saving these little furry ones.

The numbers of adoptions at fairs is really unpredictable. The fair before this one, we had 12 adoptions, this one only the one. We did have 2 good applications from people who couldn't pick up the dogs that day, so those adoptions might still go through. Also, it was 9/11, and there were lots of memorials, etc., in the Springs.

i think you're both right...probably fewer people wanting to get a new critter into the house this time of year cuz the kids are going back to school and things are shook up. AND it was a day when people might have been elsewhere for events. (I"m happy to hear that places were still doing remembrances as nothing at all was done in this town!)

maybe things will pick up when the older kids are off to college and mom and dad decide they need someone else in the house to talk to who won't talk back:)

No guarantee that a furkid won't talk back too! We've had several furkids who did, and it looked and sounded just like a human kid backtalking.

Glad that one pupper found his forever home, and the others are safe until they find one of their own.

And you wouldn't want her to be any other way, now would you? That tortitude is what makes her unique and special.

at least critter talking back doesn't including swearing at mom and dad....or asking for money!

I'm sure if you could translate cat into human, you'd find a good share of swearing.

I second that tortitude. The pretty tortieshell that Tortie is, she does a lot of talking and the Drama Queen.

I'm pretty sure this is true. I'll bet that, barring any illness, that's what inappropriate peeing is ;-)

Tammy used to be the queen of inappropriate peeing too, but then we switched to World's Best litter, and now she just has occasional lapses.

We only do fairs on the second and fourth Saturdays, so there wasn't a fair. However, a family drove clear across the state to adopt one of SCARF's little pups, so we did have one adoption. The next fair is this coming Saturday. I'm not going, but the kittens are supposed to go. Kevin is against the kittens going without me, but I would hate for them to lose out on a good home if the right person happens to come along.

Glad to hear one pup found his forever home. Those folks must've wanted him really badly to drive all that way! Lucky pupper!

I agree, it would be a shame if the kittens missed out on finding their forever families if they don't go, even if you can't come with them this time.

I just got the list of animals scheduled for this Saturday's petfair. Dustie is on the list, but Errol and Arlene aren't. I wrote a letter to put in Dustie's adoption folder so that if she does get a forever home, her new people will know something about her and be able to contact me. We'll have to make the sacrifice and hold on to the orange kittens for at least 2 more weeks.

Yes, I hope your people come to find you Dustie. And maybe if there's mention in your folder about your sibs, they might want to adopt them too. (I can hope and dream can't I?)

Dustie didn't find her new family, so she came back to us last night. She had a long day yesterday, so she's having a nice nap now.
