I'm almost finished reading "Dance of Death"
I'vr also been reading alot of fan fiction and discarding most of it so I am making room .
Dropped off a bunch of books at the library yesterday, left them in a box outside th library door with a sign saying free. they were all gone when I left the library. Hope they went to good homes. there were some kids books and some adult, mostly library cast offs ,and some advance copy things I got at the Comiccon

Good news at the library! they may be starting to put out discards again and even better news, they posted the new fall hours and my library is back to Saturday Hours!!!!!! (no more going over a mile to the other library- I'll never understand why the picked the other library to open on Saturdays over the summer since it is much more underused.
and not only are the Saturday hours back, but they have added another late day, so now the libary is open til 8pm on Wed and Thursday. and the library that was open on Saturday during the summer is closed on Sau=turday but has Sunday afternoon opening

Or they finally figured out that even with the added hours the other branch simply didn't draw as many people as your nearby branch did. So now they fixed the situation. I'm so glad you'll have computer access more closer to home Lovekitties. And a source for new books to read. Smile

i'm still reading the Cat who Wasn't a Dog...they FINALLY got a murder in there. this woman spends 75-100 pgs with all these yapping characters and then finally brings out the reason a person reads a freakin mystery! I'm only reading it to get through it...the cat is very interesting if nothing else. (the cat they found in a taxaderist shop alive with a note on it on how it was supposed to be stuffed and displayed!).

same book but its getting more interesting....they started to throw in a few little recipes (there's a character who is writing a cookbook and is asking people in the book for easy one person recipes).

I'm reading The Jade Throne by Naomi Novik. It's a libarary castoff, about an alternate universe England during the Napoleonic wars, where dragons are real, and are used as air corps in the battles. the story centers on one dragon who had originally been sent aas an egg as a gift to Napoleon, but was impressed by a British naval officer when his ship captured the ship it was on. In this story (#2 in the series) the dragon is being sent back to China, at the insistance of the emperor, because it is a "Celestial"dragon.
I also have the first booki in the series (His Majesty's Dragon) which I haven;t read yet. That one is from the NYcomic Con and is signed by the author

wow its been weeks since we've put anything in here...is nobody else reading??
i got so many books at the con its going to take me a while to get through. i think some of them are going to be straight give to others though....i got a beautiful dragon book i'm passing on to a friend's son though i think dad is going to use it for reference as well.
i'm reading some freebie graphic novels right now so i can pass them along. One is called Lunch Lady which involves a lunch lady, a comic artist/writer and it appears...a LOT of bunnies.

I have not released books in years even thought that is the point of Bookcrossing. I like the forums. You can look for me on Bookcrossing. I am WarriorNY there as well.

I have a bookcrossing book. I keep forgetting to release it. Somebody
here in the forum sent it to me.

Finally finished the book I was reading on FDR and Churchill. Have started
on a book titled Dinner at Mr. Jefferson's. It's about a dinner with Jefferson,
Hamilton and Madison. This was between three of the major participants of
the formation of over govenment. It also helped define and establish the fued
between Jefferson and Hamilton.

I love the subtitle on the book too. Three men, five great wines and the
evening that changed America.

i wonder what they would have done if they didn't have all that wine!

i haven't read much since last Thurs. only read some comics that i don't want to keep and a couple graphic novels. (one called Lunch Lady which was pretty funny....another was a 'choose your own adventure' more adult graphic novel...i don't think i know what 'choose your own adventure' is cuz i couldn't make heads or tails out of part of it!
